Users

Manage end-user records from the Users area in the admin panel and from Settings → Users for bulk import.

Import users

Import contacts from a CSV file only.

  1. •

    Open import

Go to Settings → Users → Import users and click Import users.

  2. •

    Choose CSV

Select a .csv file from your computer. The file is uploaded, then processed automatically.

  3. •

    Confirm

When import finishes, a success notice appears. Open the Users area to review new profiles.

CSV format

  • The first row must be column headers.
  • Each header is converted to a slug (lowercase, spaces become -). Standard columns map to profile fields:
    • First name → first_name (required — rows without a first name are skipped)
    • Last name → last_name
    • Email → email
    • Profile image → profile_image
  • Any other header becomes a custom user detail with that slug (for example Height → height, Hair color → hair-color).

Define custom fields under Settings → Users → Custom fields before importing columns that are not built-in.

Example file (copy and save as .csv):

First name,Last name,Email,Height,Hair color
John,Doe,[email protected],180,Black
Jane,Smith,[email protected],165,Blonde

Search users

In the Users area, use the search box at the top of the table. Search matches:

  • First name and last name (each word in the query is checked against both fields)
  • Email
  • Custom fields and other values stored in user details (sb_users_data)

Search runs server-side via get-users with your query; clearing the search restores the default paginated list.

Delete users

Single user

  1. Open the user from the Users table.
  2. In the user edit panel, click Delete user.

Multiple users

  1. Select the checkboxes for the users to remove.
  2. Click the Delete icon in the top-right toolbar of the Users area.

What is removed

When a user is deleted:

  • Their conversations and messages are removed (database cascade).
  • Attachments on those conversations are deleted from storage (sb_delete_attachments runs before the user row is removed).
  • If Amazon S3 or S3-compatible storage is enabled, remote objects referenced by those attachments are deleted through the same file-delete path as local uploads.
  • Linked profile images are deleted from storage.

After deletion

If the same person returns to your site (same browser/session rules as a new visitor), Aysali Bot can create a new user automatically — they will not reuse the deleted record.

Visitors (user_type = visitor) are purged automatically by the scheduled cleanup job when their account is older than 24 hours (see cron in your hosting setup).

Agents and admins deleted from the user list are handled separately (conversation agent assignment may be reassigned to another agent).

Merge users

Combine two duplicate end-user profiles into one account from the Users table.

  1. •

    Select two users

Enable exactly two user rows with the checkboxes (not agents or admins).

  2. •

    Merge

Click Merge users in the top toolbar and confirm the alert.

  3. •

    Review

The first selected user ID becomes the surviving account. The second user is deleted after data is merged.

After merge:

  • All conversations and messages from both users move to the surviving user.
  • User details from the second user are copied when the first user does not already have the same slug.
  • If the survivor has no email but the other user does, the email is copied and the account type may be set to user.

Additional user table columns

To show extra profile fields as columns in the Users table, configure Settings → Admin → Users table additional columns. Each entry is the field slug (for example date-of-birth for the label “Date of birth”).

See Users table additional columns for slug rules and examples.
