Users
Configure how visitors register, log in, and verify their email under Settings → Users in the Aysali Bot admin panel. OTP emails, login links, and external login verification all use the wrapper in Settings → Notifications → Email template (\{content\} merge field).
OTP email verification
The OTP feature verifies a user’s email during registration by sending a one-time code to their inbox. The user enters the code in the registration form before the account is created.
- •
Enable verification
Turn on Settings → Users → Email verification.
- •
Customize the OTP email
Edit Settings → Users → Email verification email — subject and body. Include the
\{code\}merge field; it is replaced with the numeric code. - •
Save and test
Save settings. Register a test user with a real inbox and confirm the code arrives inside your Email template layout.
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email verification | Require OTP during new registration when enabled |
| Email verification email | Subject and content for the OTP message (\{code\}) |
| Email template (Notifications) | Shared HTML/text wrapper around all outbound emails |
Login verification URL
Login verification URL lets Aysali Bot authenticate users against your external login system instead of (or in addition to) the local password stored in the bot database.
Setting: Settings → Users → Login verification URL
When a user submits the chat login form with email and password, and local password verification fails, Aysali Bot sends an HTTP request to your URL with the same credentials as query parameters:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
email | Email from the login form |
password | Password from the login form (URL-encoded) |
Example request:
https://example.com/[email protected]&password=12345678
Your endpoint must return JSON. If the response includes first_name, the login is treated as successful: an existing user is signed in, or a new user is created from the payload.
Example response:
{
"first_name": "John",
"last_name": "Doe",
"email": "[email protected]",
"profile_image": "https://example.com/avatar.svg",
"department": null,
"password": "",
"details": {
"location": ["Location", "New York, United States"],
"country_code": ["Country code", "America/New_York"]
}
}
Login link and forgot password
If a user forgets their password, they can click Forgot password in the login form. Aysali Bot emails a login link to their registered address; opening the link signs them in automatically (token in the URL).
- •
Require login or registration
Set Settings → Users → Require registration to Registration and login form or Login form (login link is not available when registration is disabled).
- •
Customize the email
Edit Settings → Users → Login link email — include the
\{link\}merge field in the body. - •
Shared email layout
Confirm Settings → Notifications → Email template matches your branding; login link content is injected as
\{content\}.
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Require registration | Must be Registration and login form or Login form for forgot-password / login link |
| Login link email | Subject and body with \{link\} merge field |
| Email template | Wrapper for the login link message |
