When Settings → Notifications → Sound settings are enabled, Aysali Bot plays a short audio cue when a new message or new conversation arrives — in the admin panel and/or on pages that embed the chat widget, depending on which options you turn on.

Enable sounds

   Open notifications settings

   In the admin panel go to Settings → Notifications → Sound settings.

   Enable the right scope

   Turn on Active for the chat widget (visitor-facing pages) and/or Active - admin for the admin area.

3. •

   Adjust volume and repeat (optional)

   Set Volume / Volume - admin (1–10, or leave Default for the built-in level). Use Repeat / Repeat - admin if you want the alert to play more than once when the tab is in the background.

4. •

   Save

   Save settings. Agents and visitors must interact with the page once before audio can play (see below).

Default widget audio uses \{your-bot-host\}/media/sound.mp3 unless your theme overrides it.

Browser autoplay policy

Modern browsers block audio until the visitor or agent has engaged with the page — for example by clicking anywhere in the admin area or on the page that shows the chat widget. This is a browser security rule, not an Aysali Bot limitation.

If sounds never play:

1. Click once inside the admin panel or chat page after it loads.
2. Confirm Active or Active - admin is enabled and settings are saved.
3. Check that the tab is not muted at the OS or browser level.

Repeat behavior

If Repeat (or Repeat - admin) is set above Default, the sound can loop while the admin tab or chat widget page is in the background (another tab focused, window minimized, or tab hidden). Each repeat waits for the clip to finish, then plays again until the repeat count is reached, or Infinite loop is selected.

Related notifications

Sound is separate from desktop notifications and flash (title bar) alerts under the same Settings → Notifications section. You can combine them: for example desktop notification when the tab is hidden, without sound when the panel is focused.
